The clothes we wear can tell other people a lot about us. We often judge people by what they are wearing.Fashion plays a very important role in our life. It is something we deal with every day.Fashion models, singers, musicians, actors and sportsmen are the idols of thousands of teenagers.Every fashion goes through three stages. At first it is different: it may be new and exciting, surprising and shocking.In my view it is stupid to follow fashion blindly. Fashion comes and goes out, styles are forever. Stefano Gobbana said: "Fashion is all a game, with new rules every season. "I quite agree with the famous designer. To my mind style helps determine who you are and what you want to say. Every person should work out his own style, because it is his individuality, it reflects his inner state and character.In different places we need to wear different clothes. For example attending a formal meeting, you should look elegant and conservative.When you go to the theatre, an evening dress or a dinner jacket will suit that event much better.Fashion, or clothing style, is always changing. Fashion is never permanent. Long skirts, short skirts, pants for women, make-up for men — these are some of the fashions that come in and out of style.In the middle of the eighteenth century some of the most fashionable rich young men in Britain copied the latest Italian fashions.In many countries today people wear modern fashions most of the time. They sometimes wear their traditional clothing on special days such as holidays.These people think that their appearance is very important. They will spend much of their time and money trying to look like the ideal man or woman.Many people, especially young people, take no notice of the clothes the designers produce.Clothes with a sporty look are popular. They make people look healthy and energetic.




Shopping


   Team of specialists  has helped you to decide what you want. Psychologists and desiners have worked together with the shop. Shoppers in Britain spend 64 million every day on clothes. British teenage shoppers spend 3 times more than their mums and dads. Many shoppers like to meet up with their friends, go window-shopping, check out the shops, try on the clothes or have a burger for lunch. In short, spend time in a positive, exciting atmosphere in wich you feel at home. Always make a shopping list if you are going to buy more than two things.
   We have different departments. For example pet shop, chemist's, toy shop, book shop, newsagent's, sweet shop, bakery, department store. 

Friends

   I think I have the greatest friends in the world. They are just as important to me as family. In fact, they are my family, really. My best friends and I all grew up together and shared so many experiences together. We know everything about each other. I would do anything for my friends and I'm sure they'd do anything for me. I'm sure there's nothing in the world that could stop us from being friends. I've also made lots of other good friends from school. They are also important to me. We are now all over the world and it's sometimes difficult to meet each other, but we stay in touch. One day I'd like to get all of my friends together for a big party. That'd  be great fun.


Friendship

  Friendship is a very special thing. It makes happiness glow brighter and grief  less painful, because we have friends to share it. Lucky are the people who have friends.
  As for me, I have many friends. And I have best friend. Her name is Kamilla. She lives in Belarus, in Lida. We get on. She's a good person, kind, clever, friendly, lovely. She has blue eyes, blond heir. She likes to play computer games, play with her cat, walk with friends and other. She shares with me the secrets. We have in common. I like to be friends with her! Sometimes we go to the cinema or walk around the centre of our town, visiting shops. Our friendship helps me fell strong and sure of myself.

The city of my dreams

  Everyone dreams to live in a big city or an small country. As for me I dreams about big city too.
  The city of my dreams is big. There are a lot of modern buildings in my city.
  There are cottages, skyscrapers and high-rise buildings here. There are a lot of fitness centres, comfortable cafes, big shops, cinemas, swimming-pools. Here you can see a lot of sights, monuments. It make my city attractive.
  My city is comfortable for living. It make big houses, a large number of shops and schools around the houses.
  Welcome to the city of my dreams!


Travel on foot

If you travel on foot you can keep fit. Travelling on foot is more cheaper than travelling by car, by ship, by train, by plane. If you travel on foot you can see this beautiful nature. You can see lakes, rivers, trees, animals. But travel on foot is dangerous because you can meet bear or wolf. It is bad because people go very fast and they quickly are tired.

London


London is the capital of Great Britain, its political, economic and cultural centre. It’s one of the largest cities in the world. Its population is more than 9 million people. It was founded more than two thousand years ago.



London is an ancient city. There are four parts in London: West End, East End, the City and Westminster.



The City is the oldest part of London, its financial and business centre. There are many offices, companies and banks in this part of the capital. The Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral are situated in the City.



Westminster is also important part of the capital. It’s the administrative centre of London. The Houses of Parliament, the seat of the British Government, are there. Opposite the Houses of Parliament is Westminster Abbey where kings and queens have been crowned and many famous people were buried. The Houses of Parliament are often referred to as the Palace of Westminster.



The Towers of the Houses of Parliament stand high above the city. On the highest tower there is the largest clock in the country, Big Ben. 



To the west of Westminster is West End, the richest part of London. It is full of luxury hotels, super-markets, cinemas and concert-halls. In the centre of the West End the Trafalgar Square is situated with the famous statue of Lord Nelson.


America


  The United States of America are situated in the central part of the North American continent. Its western coast is washed by the Pacific Ocean and its eastern coast — by the Atlantic Ocean. The total area of the USA is over nine million square kilometers. The population of the USA is about 250 million people; most of the population lives in towns and cities. The USA is a very large country, so it has several different climatic regions. The coldest regions are in the north and north-east. The south has a subtropical climate. The United States is a land of rivers and lakes. The northern state of Minnesota is a land of 10,000 lakes. The longest rivers in the USA are the Mississippi, the Missouri and the Rio Grande. The highest mountains are the Rocky Mountains, the Cordillera and the Sierra Nevada. The United States is rich in natural and mineral resources. It produces copper, oil, iron ore and coal. It is a highly-developed industrial and agricultural country. There are many big cities in the USA, such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and others. The national capital is Washington, D.C. Its population is about 3.4 million. 


My English studies

  I remember very well the first day of my English studies when the teacher appeared in the classroom and said something I did not understand. Later I knew it was a greeting "Hello, children!" We started from rhyms, songs and movements. At that time English seemed a kind of a game to me.
  But now I understand that English only seems an easy language. There are a lot of things that are hard to understand and impossible to remember: phrasal verbs, different derivatives, exceptions from the grammar rules and the list of difficulties is endless.
  In senior classes we have 3 English lessons a week and 1 additional lesson in grammar activities. Much attention is paid to grammar, writing all kinds of tests, speaking and listening. Much work has to be done at home as well. Hometasks are mainly grammar excercises, vocabulary and texts for reading.
  I can't but mention our teacher of English who devotes all her energy and talent to making us speak good English. She is a nice person in every way and interesting to talk to. She always goes her best to make her lessons interesting. She is never indifferent to any of us. It goes without saing that there is mutual understanding between the teacher and the pupils.
  She does her best to convince us that learning foreign languages is necessary. She says that every educated person should be able to speak at least one foreign language, and in many aspects of life English is the key and it has a great influence  everywhere. English is spoken and studied all over the world. It has become the language of international communication. International business and diplomatic relations are in English.
  I liked my English lessons from the first moment!
  Most of us learn English because we want to get a good job and because it is useful when we travel abroad. Some of us want to read and enjoy English literature and a few of us learn English because they want to understand the words of pop songs.
  To know a foreign langufge is absolutely necessary for every modern specialist. More than 350 million people speak English as their native language. Our English teacher gives us different texts to read, gives us written grammar tests. We describe pictures, watch videos sometimes, listen to dialogues and make use of situations.
  She teaches us to ask and answer questions in English, to write compositions and to do different projects. Best of all I like to play language games and to take part in quiz-shows.
  In conclusion I'd like to say that we learn English in a friendly but hard-working atmosphere.



Money

  It is almost impossible to imagine life of a modern person without money. 
  Money has always been a medium of exchange. Money was created by men for convenience. At first people bartered, they exchanged things they had for things they needed. Throughout their history people have used different things as money: knives, rice, cattle, tobacco, shells and many other things. Coins were first used in Greece, paper money was invented in China. Now people carry plastic credit cards in their wallets instead of cash. With your credit cards you can take money from the cash-machine anytime you need it. Many countries in Europe now have the same currency.
  Some believe that people are divided into rich and poor. Some of the rich people are so rich because they have been budgeting. Poor people are always bound to restrict themselves.
  So, in my opinion money is one of the necessary elements in our life, yet it is not basic.
  As for me, I get pocket money from my parents.
  So enjoy every moment of your life and appreciate the things you already have.


My favorite singer

  Music is a huge world of the variety of feelings. Without it our life won't be so bright and beautiful. Music is a necessary part of over life. Music is divided into genres and styles. A lot of singers there.
  Of course, I like the work of different artists. One of the most preferred is Dmitry Koldun. He participated in the Eurovision Song Contest. He set up his own studio recording "Lizard".
  In conclusion I want to say that there is no bad music. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences.

The Healthy Way of Life

People nowadays are more health-conscious than they used to be. They understand that good health is above wealth.
To be healthy we should avoid different bad habits that can affect our health. In my opinion, smoking, and drinking too much alcohol, are the worst ones. It’s common knowledge that smoking and drinking can shorten our lives. Smoking, for example, causes a number of heart and lung diseases, such as pneumonia, emphysema and cancer. Besides, it makes your teeth yellow and skin unhealthy. Fortunately, in recent years smoking has received a lot of bad publicity. Some companies don’t employ people who are smokers. Smoking has been banned in most public places because everyone agrees it does harm to our health. Cigarette smoke contains over 4000 chemicals. All this chamicals are breathed into the body while smoking a cigarette. One out of ten men in the world is a smoker and every 8 seconds someone dies because of this habit. According to the statistics, smoking kills around 5 million people a year. It influences different people in a different way. More than 40 diseases are assiciated with smoking; it increases the risk of cancer, bronchitis, heart diseases, etc. The immune system of an active smoker is so bad that they take more time to recover from any disease. Vitamin C is destroyed by smoking. According to studies, an active smoker is likely to live fourteen years less than non-smokers.I don’t smoke, because I don’t want to have unhealthy skin and teeth and die young.
Smoking and drinking are joined by less dangerous habits, such as skipping meals, eating unhealthy food, or even overeating. Of course, they are not quite as deadly as smoking or drinking alcohol, but they also affect our health.
If we eat too much, we’ll become obese, and obesity leads to serious health problems. A lot of people like drinking coca cola and coffee, enjoy pizzas and hamburgers. Among the advantages of eating fast food are the following: it’s easy, convenient, takes less time to get it and many people like its taste. It’s also inexpensive because it is usually made with cheaper ingredients such as high fat meat, refined grains, sugar and fats, instead of nutritious foods as lean meats, But what is tasty is not always healthy. If  eaten often ,fast food can lead to obesity and other problems. Fast food makes you fat,  that is why Americans are the fattest people in the world.
In recent years eating habits have undergone a change. People are encouraged to eat less fat, It’s believed to be one of the major causes of obesity and heart disease. Salads, beans, and fruit have taken the place of steak and ice cream. The fashion for healthy food is growing all the time.
Many people feel they are too fat, even if their doctors disagree. And a lot of people try to improve their fitness. There are a lot of ways to lose weight and avoid gaining it. Perhaps the most popular of them is following a diet. If you want to lose weight, you should cut out snacks and desserts, and cut down on fat. People have also become more aware of calories, the energy value of food. Some people count the number of calories they eat every day; so that they can try to take in fewer calories and lose weight. This is called a calorie-controlled diet. Manufacturers are increasingly producing special foods with fewer calories for slimmers.
But excessive dieting may be dangerous, too. Some people refuse to eat meat as they consider it harmful. They say a vegetarian diet reduces the risk of cancer and vegetarians live longer than others. I can’t agree with them, because meat is an excellent source of good nutrition. In my opinion, it’s wrong to put down a food simply because excessive amounts can cause health problems. Consumed in moderate amounts, meat is perfectly good for our health.
To my mind, the only way to stay healthy and to keep fit is by going in for sports. Among the benefits of regular exercise are a healthier heart, stronger bones, quicker reaction times and more resistance to various illnesses. Besides, you can eat and drink as much as you want because you are burning it all off.
Sleep also plays an important role. It’s a necessity for our brain. Having little sleep can be harmful because important body functions and brain activity happens during sleep. When you don’t get enough sleep, there is a danger of having an accident or illness.
Teens need about 9 hours of sleep each night to function best. They should make sleep a priority. To sleep well you should make your room cool, quiet and dark. Besides, try to avoid cofee, tea, cola and chocolate close to bedtime.
I think it is very important to be fit and healthy, and it is necessary to take care of your health. As for my health programme it’s the following:
1.I do everything I enjoy and set realistic goals.
2.I start off small and gradually increase my fitness levels.
3.I make lifestyle changes which will help me to be fit, for example taking the stairs instead of the lift, getting off the bus a few stops earlier, walking instead of going by car.
4.I do as much as I can - I know my body  better then anyone else.
To sum up I believe that regularity in life promotes our health. Sleeping eight or nine hours, getting up early, regular meals, a healthy diet and going in for sports is really a good way to live.
It goes without saying that good health is all that most people dream about. As the proverb says “Health is the greatest wealth”. So the sooner you understand it the healthier your life will be.
